It's been said, "You must fill your cup before you can pour into others." When our cup is full we can not only nurture our lives but the lives of others. It is not by accident or coincidence that we live today. We were conceived and birthed to live an extraordinary, fulfilled life so that we may nurture and fulfill the lives of others, especially the lost, confused, and needy. We must take it a step further and consider the power and reward of serving others in a different way. The key to staying fulfilled in your service to others is to "keep your cup full and serve others from your overflow." The ability to serve from our overflow can be a nurturing experience for you and the people you serve. To nurture is to feed and protect. To nurture is to support and encourage someone during a period of time in their life. To nurture is to bring up, educate, and mentor another during a transition in their life. Serving others, mentoring, and leadership have a powerful effect when it's anchored in the intent of nurturance. We must be very intentional about the quality of what we give instead of the quantity. I don't know about you but I'd rather have a small, beautiful authentic diamond than a big fake one. Unfortunately, that's how some people give and lead in life. They do it flamboyantly just to be seen and recognized while others who give in genuine, small does often go unsung. If you have been called to lead or desire to lead, do it with authenticity and nurturance. The goal is to help others release their greatness by living and leading from your own greatness. Begin first by discovering and releasing your greatness and nurturing yourself. Know that you have value and that you are a gift to the world. Nurture your life by taking care of you, putting yourself first and filling your cup with joy, peace, and love. When your cup overflows with self-confidence, wisdom, discernment, and personal power you can nurture the lives of others by serving them from your overflow. If you desire to dramatically transform your life and lives of others begin living and leading only from the unique "quality" of who you are and you'll be amazed how you can nurture the souls of others. |
